Horton cum Studley, Oxfordshire

As a modern day interpretation of the cottage garden, our Design proposal acknowledges both the original cottage and the new garden room extension by means of potager raised beds. These are to be filled with staples such as lupins, sweat peas and roses. We have adopted a layered approach creating a central inner sanctum of privacy & peace,  in response to the proximity of an adjoining road and neighbouring gardens.

A generous terrace harvests the sun light throughout the day, and a split level water rill creates movement and acts as an acoustic barrier. A wild flower meadow, an orchard grid and a wildlife pond create a soft enclosure to a central, bookended lawn.
