Inspired by early 20th century abstract artists such as Maholy-Nagy, this entirely new, large garden offers balance and proportion to a unique modernist country house designed by John Pardey Associates. Overlap is employed to break rules and negotiate level changes, and allows fluid circulation throughout the large plot.
A bold 40m water feature across two levels and a strong row of mature amelanchiers form two asymmetrical spines moving away from the house in parallel, against which the embracing, curved perennial garden produces an enticing counterpoint.
A large, bespoke veg garden with beautifully made wooden raised beds creates a practical corner.
