Walled Garden, Yorkshire

An existing gnarled apple tree becomes the centrepiece for a simple study in green. Texture variations set wildflower meadow against smoothly mown lawn, bookended by low evergreen, double Yew hedges. Level changes reinforce and frame the main lawn and define circulation.

A perennial border with informal seating accompany and echo the main lawn area, whilst a grid of Acer campestre multi stems create a small woodland walk featuring spring bulbs such as wild garlic and native blue bells.
